Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Kampala City Tour

Upon arrival, your driver-guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you into Kampala. Enjoy lunch at a select local restaurant, with a chance to sample some authentic Ugandan cuisine, before heading out for a Kampala city tour, taking in landmarks such as the Kasubi Tombs and the African Craft Village, along with other sites as time allows. Afterward, continue to your hotel, check in, and relax ahead of dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Depart for Murchison Falls National Park, with an en-route lunch stop and plenty to take in along the way: roadside markets, traditional homesteads, local communities, and beautiful, ever-changing scenery. On arrival, drive directly to the top of the falls for sweeping views of the waterfall and surrounding landscape before continuing to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, meet your driver-guide for a morning game drive, setting off around 6:30 or 7:00am. The park’s network of tracks, including the Buligi, Victoria, and Albert routes, offers excellent opportunities to spot lion, buffalo, giraffe, elephant, Uganda kob, bushbuck, and Jackson’s hartebeest, alongside birdlife such as the Egyptian plover, bee-eater, blue-naped mousebird, silverbird, secretary bird, marabou stork, and African openbill. After the drive, return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, head to Paraa Jetty for a boat cruise toward the base of the falls. The two-hour ride offers excellent photography opportunities and reliable sightings of elephant, buffalo, warthog, and Uganda kob drinking along the shoreline, alongside hippo and crocodile in the water. Birdlife along the route includes the giant kingfisher, long-tailed nightjar, martial eagle, pied kingfisher, standard-winged nightjar, swamp flycatcher, and red-throated bee-eater. Afterward, return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Fort Portal

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge, and set off with your driver-guide toward Fort Portal. Along the way, stop at the crater lakes for beautiful views of the surrounding scenery and the Rwenzori mountain range in the distance. After an en-route lunch, continue the journey, keeping an eye out for baboons, birdlife, and the changing forest scenery as you approach the lodge. On arrival, check in, relax, and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, your driver-guide will collect you for a morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, where sightings often include lion, Uganda kob, elephant, waterbuck, leopard, bushbuck, and a wide range of birdlife. Return to the lodge afterward for lunch.

In the afternoon, set off on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, the waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. Over roughly two to three hours, you’ll have excellent photography opportunities and the chance to see large concentrations of hippo and Nile crocodile in the water, alongside buffalo, waterbuck, warthog, Uganda kob, elephant, lion, and leopard along the shoreline. You’ll also pass local fishermen preparing their nets, and the channel’s birdlife includes bee-eaters, African skimmer, African shoebill, yellow-billed stork, pink-backed pelican, and saddle-billed stork. Afterward, transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Game Drive and Drive to Entebbe

After an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and set off with your driver-guide for a final morning game drive, with good chances of spotting zebra, buffalo, giraffe, topi, eland, impala, waterbuck, and a range of birdlife.

Afterward, depart the park and begin the journey to Entebbe. En route, stop at the equator for lunch, photographs, and a chance to pick up souvenirs such as local artwork and craft items. Continue the journey to Entebbe, arriving in the late evening. Check in at your hotel and relax ahead of dinner and an overnight stay.
